Tania Scott is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose work transforms newspaper archives into sculptural timelines. Working with clippings from The New York Times collected across specific eras, Scott constructs meticulously layered mannequins and sculptural forms that operate as living documents - repositories of power, identity, and the shifting narratives that shape public consciousness. Her practice explores time as a medium, treating the natural aging of newsprint as an integral part of the work: a slow, material clock that alters meaning as history evolves.

Rooted in feminist inquiry and media critique, Scott’s sculptures examine how bodies, particularly women’s bodies, are framed, erased, celebrated, or politicized through representation. Her series Women in Power, Buckle Up, The Elites, and The NYC Set build complex historical portraits assembled from fragmented headlines and images, revealing the biases, absences, and contradictions embedded in mass media.
